Thank you so much for being a part of our team and for your generous financial support, your enthusiasm, and your prayer support! We could not go without you and we are humbled to be the hands and feet of Jesus for you while we are in Guatemala!
Despite the recent volcano, mudslides, three inches of ash covering, sinkhole and airport closing in Guatemala last week, we are still going!! THANKFULLY!!! There was a team from our church there during these events and they reported that where we are going was unaffected by the natural disasters (that would be God things) that occured in Guatemala. They basically said the folks that lived around the volcano were most affected (obviously) but that the entire country was not in an uproar and that where we are going is fine. The roads are fine, the weather is fine and we'll be fine! Our church is very careful about where we go and they would not send us if there were unusual concerns about our safety.
So, we leave tomorrow morning - our flight leaves at 9:50AM and we'll arrive around 3 1/2 hours later into Guatemala City, where we'll be met by Dr. Alb and the Medical Missions Ministries team. So you know what our week looks like a bit:
- Saturday we will settle in and get the food we need for our team for the week.
- Sunday we will attend church and then visit an orphanage.
- Monday through Thursday we will conduct medical clinics where we will share the gospel, provide a pharmacy, and conduct activities with the children. The villages we will visit include Santa Clara La Laguna, San Pedro La Laguna, and San Marcos La Laguna. I am not sure of the village we will be in on Thursday. We will spend two nights away from the ministry center during the week.
- Friday is our tourist day - most likely in Antigua!!
- Saturday we head back to Atlanta!
Thanks for being there for all of us and for your prayers!!
