Thailand means \"land of the free\" and throughout its 800-year history, Thailand can boast the distinction of being the only country in Southeast Asia never to have been colonized. Yet, very few in this predominately Buddhist nation have experienced true freedom in Christ. Individuals and families (age 13 and up) gain exposure to urban ministry in Bangkok, a city of 11 million people where less than 1% know Christ. In the past, we sent teams to help our partner organizations free women in prostitution and provide them with alternatives, counseling, and after-care. More recently, we have sent high school students to hang out with Thai college students. Through English conversation, Bible studies, church services, and activities like bowling and movies, their presence has created interest in the Gospel.
