Overview

Following decades of dictators and communist rule, a new Russia is now in full bloom.  The church in Russia holds the keys to providing a solid foundation for growth.  Partnering with the Russian Center for church Multiplication, Perimeter teams influence Russian youth & college students, encourage church planters and help the church build bridges into the business community. concerts.

The Next Generation in Russia

In 2004, Perimeter Church sent a week-long Senior High team, a 7-week team, and a 15-month team to Moscow-all focused on the Next Generation strategy of mobilizing Perimeter's youth and college campus ministries to assest the indigenous chruch in reaching the "next Generation" for God's Kingdom.  Sports camps, high school and university English classes, and discipleship with young leaders, all based in our partner's church, formed the basis of our efforts.  Nationals are now leading a cell-group ministry to university students and a strong evangelistic ministry to high school students.

Journey Experience

"One night Jamie Fisher and I walked with Lena for 3 hours, discussing her serious questions about Jesus and trusting Him for salvation.  She feared the limitations that Christ's lordship might put on her life.  I could only share with her how Christ has freed me from slavery and that the "rules" exist so that I may live life to the full.  Another week a student named Nastya expressed interest in spiritual things and even wanted to come to church with me.  She said that her other friends didn't have aim or purpose in life.  She knew I was a Christian and that I worked with the church, but I'd never had a lengthy conversation with her about her beliefs.  Two of us attended an Orthodox service with Nastya.  We were blown away at the difference between that church and Protestant churches.  The rebuilt cathedral we attended primarily serves tourism and big religious events.  Experiencing this increased our compassion for these people.  Nastya later attended church with us and we began to talk about our different beliefs.  Please pray for God's continued work in Nastya's life."-Amber Vestal, 15-month team member-
