Overview Tanzania
A Deeper Look
Tanzania
Quietly, in the shadow of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Spirit is sweeping through the Sub-Saharan country of Tanzania and uniting pastors - and Perimeter has had the privilege of watching that movement, especially in the village of Karanse. There is a place for Perimeter members in women's and youth ministry, equipping of pastors, micro-enterprise development, and widow and orphan care. Perimeter has been serving in Tanzania since 1999 through ministries of "Word" and "Deed," seeking to show mercy and compassion and administer true justice through the indigenous church. Here are just a few ways we have been addressing the needs in the past few years:
- Training Tanzanian pastors, women and youth leaders
- Helping the church in the village of Karanse to minister to nearly 100 widows and 400 impoverished children and orphans
- Providing emergency relief in the form of maize and beans
- Enabling the church to build or repair homes for the widows
- Working to serve and strengthen the local Christian school that Perimeter helped establish
- Sponsoring Health Clinics and training on HIV/AIDS prevention
Watch and read through the story of one family's pictures how God has transformed the village of Karansi over the last 9 years.

Journey Experience
"Sunday, the pastor introduced us as a team having the ‘heart of a mama, which is close to God's heart'. What an encouragement and joy to hear. We did want to convey God's love and acceptance to all those we spent time with. One staff member said that we were an encouragement to them all, as they watched us serving and being used by God, it brought more assurance of God's love for them. He also shared that each person we touched was benefiting the entire country of Tanzania. I LOVE the family culture they have and have learned a lot from them over the years.
The pastor also shared the testimony of God's faithfulness in the village of Karansi. Not only were living situations better, those doing wrong are brought to justice, where they might not have been in the past. Those who are unable to have a voice or power in their situation are being heard and empowered by God's people. Our partnership with these men and women who love Jesus has enhanced the revival of hearts and minds. I can't thank the Lord enough for allowing us to be part of His work there! What a privilege to ‘walk' alongside these faithful as they visit widows and orphans, encourage fathers and mothers, seek to live out Biblical principles of mercy and justice. Words are inadequate!"- Kathy Stewart, GO Journey leader
